2011 WNC Climbers Weekend Report
The evening event kicked off at 6pm with a ‘cookout’, refreshments, silent auction, Misty Mountain Threadworks Shwag Wagon, and three mini slide shows ranging from NC ice, West coast mountaineering and New Zealand rock climbing. It was a great time to get together with other climbers in the community and kick back!

What a great weekend! We were aiming to raise $3,000 for the Carolina Climbers Coalition but blew that out of the water by raising $4,000, doubling the amount raised just a year ago! We had a great turnout for the Saturday morning Adopt A Crag Trail Day, with work being done on the South Face, Nose Area and North Face Trails. After lunch everyone either went climbing or took part in the Self Rescue Course ran by FMG Guide Karsten Delap or the North Face Bouldering Tour lead by FMG Guide Ron Funderburke.
On Sunday Fox Mountain Guides ran a climbing trip for kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Brevard. It looked like it was going to get rained out but the weather turned good just in time and we got a great day of climbing in at Looking Glass with the kids. Local climbers sponsored these kids with all the proceeds going to the Carolina Climbers Coalition. We raised $1,100 from this part of the event alone.
