Rock Climbing Courses Print E-mail

Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School is the  Southeast leader in climber education. We offer courses for gym climbers wanting to start climbing outdoors and people that have never climbed through to the seasoned climber with years of experience. The reason that our courses are unmatched for quality or content is our instructors, AMGA Certified Rock Guide Adam Fox, AMGA Certified Rock Instructor Ron Funderburke and our top level instructors in Fox Mountain Guides have years of experience with not only climbing but also teaching curriculum in a wilderness setting. We teach here in NC and have experience instructing across the USA and internationally. Also, the School headquarters has a custom built classroom with WiFi, digital projector for slide shows, PowerPoint presentations and videos. We have a climbing library and indoor work room to teach ground school components of classes inside in case of inclement weather. No other company in the Southeast region can offer you this level of experienced instruction and custom facilities!

"How can I learn to climb? I asked all around Charlotte and I got the same answer from Jessie Browns, Inner Peaks and Great Outdoor Prov. Co. All three said to contact Fox Mountain Guides because they were the best out there. So with 3 Fox brochures in hand I called to schedule the rock climbing 101 Course. I then took the Single Pitch Lead Course and then the ‘Master Class’ in December from Adam himself. It's been the best money I've spent for climbing yet!"

Skills Course Flowchart

The flowchart below represents our suggested path through our skills courses. The courses have been refined over the year with courses being added, changed and discontinued as we have found the perfect fit and flow for our training program. These courses can be taken in any order and you don't have to start with rock climbing 101, but if you are a novice climber or never climbed before you will get the most out of the training program and the most bang for your buck if you follow the suggested outline. These courses are scheduled throughout the year but if you don't see a date on the schedule call us and we can arrange to set up a new date. All the courses can be taught on any date 12 months of the year as 'Private Instruction' either for yourself, a group of friends or for your organization. It is also possible to create any training program you wish as Private instruction for as many days as you wish, in the past clients have booked us for 9 days straight of private instruction following all the skills classes below from rock climbing 101 to Multipitch Lead.
