This camp addresses fear of falling and improving commitment. We'll practice falling, movement, and resting exercises and apply all learned skills to a challenging route that suites your climbing ability. We will do this in small increments creating appropriate progressions for each individual student. You'll leave with a structured method for taking appropriate risks with diminished fear. This course will be incredibly beneficial if you are starting your lead climbing career or wishing to improve your climbing grade and ability!

This course is offered by Fox Mountain Guides in conjunction with Arno Ilgner and The Warriors Way. This class will be taught by Tracy Martin.

You’ll Learn How:

  • To fall safely
  • To give a cushioned belay
  • To distinguish between no- and yes-fall zones
  • How to engage no- and yes-fall zones
  • To break a climb into smaller risk events
  • Better risk assessment
  • How to rest effectively
  • To improve breathing
  • To trust the body

Recomendations

"How can I learn to climb? I asked all around Charlotte and I got the same answer from Jessie Browns, Inner Peaks and Great Outdoor Prov. Co. All three said to contact Fox Mountain Guides because they were the best out there. So with 3 Fox brochures in hand I called to schedule the Rock Climbing 101 Course. I then took the Single Pitch Lead Course and then the ‘Master Class’ in December from Adam himself. It's been the best money I've spent for climbing yet!"
