WNC Climbers Weekend
WNC Climbers Weekend at Looking Glass Rock
Saturday-Sunday, September 29th – 30th, 2012
Last year's WNC Climbers Weekend was a huge success with a trail day, BBQ, raffle, slide show, lots of climbing and just under $4,000 raised for the Carolina Climbers Coalition! This year we are expanding the event to get together and to raise even more money and awareness for the Access Fund and Carolina Climbers Coalition.
The event will have three main components, Saturday 9am-1pm is the Access Fund Adopt A Crag trail day at Looking Glass Rock, with time to climb through the afternoon at the Glass. Throughout the Saturday afternoon and Sunday Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School will be offering various skills clinics from climbers self-rescue through to bouldering. Saturday evening will be the Carolina Climbers Coalition Event with BBQ, slide show and multimedia presentations from local climbers with a huge silent auction and fundraiser for the CCC. On Sunday Fox Mountain Guides will also be offering a day of climbing for children's of the boys and girls clubs of Brevard, hoping to have the spaces sponsored by YOU, local climbers, with all the proceeds going to the Carolina Climbers Coalition. We hope to raise $1,800+ from this part of the event alone.
