Foundation Level Course

This two day course is ideal for climbers wanting to learn more advanced skills such as gear placement and building anchors with artificial gear (Stoppers, Cams, Hex's Tri-Cams, etc) and to look at some basic necessary skills such as self rescue and problem avoidance in single pitch climbing. This course will also start looking at following pitches to prepare you to belay and follow lead climbers in a trad single or multipitch setting.

With the Rock 101 and 201 under your belt you will have all the skills to try out our specialized Intermediate Level Courses such as the Single Pitch Rescue and Lead Climbing Courses which will take you to the next level of confidence and skills.

Topics covered:

	Advanced climbing movement skills
	knots and rope work skills
	belaying the lead climber
	Following trad lead pitches, gear removal, racking, communication
	Introduction to self rescue in a single pitch setting
	Creating anchors using Natural and Artificial components anchors for top rope climbing set ups
	Climbing equipment showing you what you need, what you don't need as well as looking at storage and proper use
	Leave no Trace wilderness skills, climbing history and ethics
	Debunking common myths in climbing and climbing equipment
	Lots of Climbing!

Number on course: Maximum of 6:1 client to instructor ratio

Cost*:

4+: $230 per person (four+ to one instructor, two days)

3: $280 per person (three to one instructor, two days)

2: $350 per person (two to one instructor, two days)

1: $500 per person (one to one instructor, two days)

*The costs are based on the actual amount of participants on the course. Courses normally run at 4+ people but in the event the courses run with less people the costs will be as shown above. Participants that do not wish to take the course with low numbers (because of the cost) can change their course to another date. The upside to lower numbers is of course a more personal course.
